I
have
dabbled in quilting, dried flower arranging, stained glass, and
probably
just about any "crafting" that came down the pike. Nothing
compared
to the challenge of painting for me. I take my paints with me
where
ever I go. There is always a subject and always someone who
appreciates
getting a little gift when I leave.
The
fun thing about "acrylic or oil" painting is that you can paint on
anything.
This
gives a person a great reason to hit every junk shop or flea market
from
here to eternity to find "goodies" to paint on! I always look for
old calendars, post cards and things with unusual old pictures on it as
subject matter..
All of this will bring a fun thing to do with my friends and students.....painting on site and getting away for painting week-ends. We go somewhere and just paint our hearts out and yak yak yak! It is very inspiring and just great gal pal fun.
Since I love to paint on rocks and do some things with dried "weeds", when my husband goes hunting, he even brings me things back. His friends tell how he makes them stop the car when he sees something that I might want to use. Guess I have him trained just a little bit!
When I was at a friend's home and was unable to paint, I started writing poetry. My poetry is more of a story telling of a person I would say. At any rate, my mind just turned on and before I knew it, I had about 8 poems written about people in my life. I find if you can't do one thing that you want to do creatively, then another part of your creative mind kicks in and you do something else. Guess God has a plan to keep us motivated after all!
I
have
2 Sisters who are very intelligent. They both are very strong and
smart about everything. Both very organized and like to do one
thing
at a time. I make them totally crazy because I run in different
directions
at the same time and usually talk the same way. Guess that is
what
makes us work as a team.
I
like
to do what is fun and feels good.... life is too short.
Living here in the hills
of Wisconsin has been great medicine for me. I love the solitude
and the beauty. My husband and I don't go much and really don't
mind. It has such beauty here and lets us tap into nature and
appreciate Gods creation.
